Placing hand on chest after greeting

QUESTION:

It has become a custom in area that after greeting a person with Salaam and shaking the hand, the hand is placed on the cheat. Is this correct and is this mentioned in any Hadith?

ANSWER: اَلْجَوَابُ حَامِداً وَمُصَلِّياً

After greeting a person with salaam and shaking the hands, to place the hand on the chest is not prohibited in Shariat. In some areas/ places this action is a means of exposing one’s humility and love. This action should not be understood to be Sunnat or Mustahab

Women cutting hair

Can a women cut her hair and how much can she cut?

ANSWER: اَلْجَوَابُ حَامِداً وَمُصَلِّياً

It is unlawful for women to choose to resemble a man in her condition of her dressing and hair. If a women cuts her long hair to such a limit that will not resemble mans hair nor will she understood to be a man if she is seen from behind, Nor did she cut it with the intention of resembling the Kuffaar then it will be permissible. (Alamghiri Vol.1 Pg. 358)

QUESTION:

I gave an item which I was selling, to a friend to see if he wanted it (i.e. if he wanted to buy the item) after 3 months, the person I gave the item to Intents to buy the item but does not have the money to pay me. Is it permissible for me to take back the item?

ANSWER: اَلْجَوَابُ حَامِداً وَمُصَلِّياً
When you gave the item to your friend to see if he wanted to buy it or not, then this does not complete the sale and he does not become the owner of the item. Therefore, it is permissible for you to take the item back from your friend.

Jamaat before

Is it permissible for a group of people who are travelling to perform their Salaah in Jamaat before the Jamaat of the Masjid Takes place in the Masjid?

ANSWER: اَلْجَوَابُ حَامِداً وَمُصَلِّياً

Prior to the Jamaat Salaah in the Masjid, if some people perform their own Jamaat , due to a need then this will not be Makrooh.

Salaah of a Musafir

QUESTION:

If a person intends to travel a distance which will make him a Musafir, and when he leaves the place where he lives and stays in town next to his for less than fifteen days will he perform Qasr or will he have to perform the full Salaah?
In a similar manner if a person goes out in Jamaat and does not know where he will go and how long he will remain in one town, what will he do in such a situation?
