Many are of the view that the congregational du’a after Fardh Salaah is not an established practised. Is there any Ahadeeth e.t.c indicating that it was the practice of Rasulullah (S.A.W) or the Sahaabah i.e. congregational du’a after Fardh Salaah?
Is it Sunnah? If it is , how and what is the Sunnah
Nabi (s.a.w) has advised the making of Du’a after the Fardh Salaah and he has mentioned that this is one of the times that Du’as are accepted. On some occasions Nabi (s.a.w) made Du’a audibly after the Fardh Salaah and Sahaabah have narrated the words that they heard Nabi (s.a.w) using in the Du’a. Therefore it will be permissible for the Imaam and Muqtadis (followers) to make Du’a after the Fardh Salaah.
However, attaching importance to collective Du’a on a daily basis, after every Fardh Salaah is not established from Nabi (s.a.w) and it is not part of the Salaah. Therefore it is preferable for those who make collective Du’a on a daily basis, after every Fardh Salaah to sometimes leave it out so that the general masses do not regard / consider it to be a Sunnah or compulsory act.
