QUESTION:
During qiyaam if one foot is lifted (and there after put back) from the ground, does this break the salaah? Also during Tashahhud, if one knee is lifted (and there after put back) from the ground does this break the salaah?
ANSWER:If a person lifts his foot of the ground during Qiyaam his Salaah will not break. However, it is Makrooh to stand on one foot for the entire Qiyaam without an excuse. Lifting the knee of the ground whilst in Qa’dah will not break the Qa’dah.
